According to the regular statistics release of Shanghai Garment Industry Association, the top 10 department stores of Shanghai sold 1.3 million sets/pieces clothes in October, rising 161,000 sets/pieces from previous month, or up by 14.1% month over month, and up by 5.7% year over year. The sales value were 579 million yuan, rising 19 million yuan from previous month, or up by 41.5% month over month, and up by 26.9% year over year. The sales volume of October was a little lower than the record high of May, and the sales value was a little lower than the record high of Jan. In this month, only the sales of lady??s wear dropped 4.9% from previous month, other clothes all witness big growth in sales. Nevertheless, the major reason for the sales value growth is the average 20.1% rising in sales prices.
　　
　　By the category of clothes in Shanghai's top 10 department stores in October, the sales value of lady's wear were 200 million yuan, rising 29.0% from a month ago, or rising 31.8% from a year ago; man's wear (man's shirt, leisure wear, suit and trousers) reached 140 million yuan. Of which, man??s leisure wear sales ranked No. 1 at 63.5 million yuan this month, rising 79.1% on a monthly basis, or rising 19.4% on a yearly basis; Man??s suit sales were 60.4 million yuan, rising 57.4% on a monthly basis, or rising 43.0% on a yearly basis; man's shirt sales were 9.47 million yuan, rising 25.7% month over month, or rising 16.3% year over year; man's trousers sales were 6.29 million yuan, rising 41.9% from a month ago, or rising 27.5% from a year ago.
