China's November cotton imports were dominated by imports from the U.S., India and Brazil. Out of total 101,846-ton imports, 45,257 tons came from the U.S., 22,328 tons came from India and 7,563 tons came from Brazil. For all of 2007, 20.9 percent or 446,349 tons of all cotton imports came from India, while West African cotton was the third largest import volume, with imports totaling 251,482 tons or 11.8 percent of all imports. The U.S. has remained the largest supplier with imports of 1,061,804 tons.

However, imports of Australian cotton, a very popular origin in China, declined 52.1 percent to 94,724 tons in January through November-- the reduction was mainly due to a shortfall in output.
