Ministry of Commerce to Adopt Temporary Anti-Dumping Measures for EU Certain Iron or Steel Fasteners

On December 23, 2009, the Ministry of Commerce of China (MOFCOM) released the No. 115 announcement of 2009 to publicize the preliminary ruling of the anti-dumping investigation on certain iron or steel fasteners, holding that there exists dumping of certain iron or steel fasteners imported from EU, which triggers substantial damages on Chinese certain iron or steel fasteners industry and there is cause and effect between dumping and substantial damages, and thus deciding to adopt temporary anti-dumping measures for the products in the form of margins. Based on the preliminary ruling, the importers should, as of December 28, 2009, provide corresponding margins to China Customs according to the dumping degrees of companies (16.8%-24.6%) confirmed in the ruling while importing the products from the aforesaid sources. The products are listed in the Customs Tariff of Import and Export Commodities of the People's Republic of China with the tariff item numbers being: 73181200, 73181400, 73181500, 73182100 and 73182200.
